Atwine Bahiigi is a Board Member of ADVEJI. Atwiine is a human rights lawyer and a Consultant in the areas of Migration laws, governance and human resources. Currently, Atwiine works as a senior Immigration officer at the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Atwiine holds a B.A (Social Sciences) Hons, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Masters in Public Administration and Management all from Makerere University, Kampala. His Academic exposure has interested him into State-civil relations, citizen and migration laws, governance and human rights, gender, human resource management and Labour law. His Masters’ degree thesis was about Management agencies and Public Road Transport Service Provision in Kampala, Uganda and brings to light how the state provides a legal framework for the functionality of the private sector.

Atwiine has also consulted for a number of national and international Non-Governmental Organization in areas of human rights, immigration laws/policy framework and governance. He also sits on Board of some of the most reputable associations and organisations in Uganda.

At ADVEJI, Atwiine will play a pivotal role in streamlining and guiding legal aid processes that form the crust of ADVEJI’s core programming.
