Stuart is a founder member and current National Coordinator at ADVEJI. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts (Phil & Hist), a Masters of Arts (Public Administration and Management) and Bachelor of Laws all from Makerere University. Stuart has also undertaken specialized training in human rights work especially protection and advocacy, Strategic Planning and Resource Mobilization, Behavioral Change science (Busara Centre Nairobi), Organizational Management among others. Stuart has also attended a number of local and International conferences on a wide range of issues including human rights, Governance, Child Sensitive Social Protection, Oil Exploration and the Extractives sector, Legal Aid Practices, trends in GBV SEA and VAC among others.

Previously Stuart has worked with a number of reputable organisations including Jaguar Group, Uganda National Farmers Federation, Advocates Coalition on Development and Environment (ACODE), Makerere University, Action Aid and Agency for Transformation East Africa, an organization working with small holder farmers across East Africa. Most recently Stuart worked as the Programs Manager at Joy for Children Uganda where he led a dedicated team of 15 staff members and directed over 10 programs and projects whose common denominator is to end all forms of violence against children (VAC). At Joy for Children Uganda, Stuart also initiated and headed a legal Aid Program that provides legal advisory services to victims of Gender Based Violence, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and VAC.

Stuart also works as a part-time consultant on Organizational Development, Legal Aid and Human Rights and currently consults with East West Management Institute (EWMI) on a 5 year USAID funded project called Civil Society Strengthening Activity (CSSA).

Stuart is also a prolific writer and researcher and has authored a number of publications mainly on issues of governance, politics and child rights that have appeared in the main stream media and respected journals. In 2013, he authored an award-winning opinion in the Makerere Golden Jubilee Journal titled Children and the Law; what is the missing link? This opinion interrogated gaps in Uganda’s policy framework that have perpetuated child rights violation in Uganda. Stuart is a regular columnists in Uganda’s main newspapers.

At ADVEJI, Stuart directs the management team under the supervision of the Board.
