Dr. Gerald Bareebe is the current Chairman of the Board of ADVEJI. Dr Bareebe works as the Provost Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Toronto. He is also a fellow at the Centre for Critical Development Studies (UTSC) and a research fellow at the Trudeau Centre for Peace, Conflict and Justice (Munk School of Global Affairs). Dr. Bareebe holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications (Makerere University), a master’s degree in International Relations (Makerere University), and an advanced master’s degree in Governance and Development (University of Antwerp).
Dr. Bareebe is a reputable academic, researcher and management consultant who has worked with a number of international and local organisations including Centre for Basic Research, Action Aid Uganda, Freedom House, Joy for Children Uganda and the Trudeau Centre for Peace, Conflict and Justice based in Canada. He also sits on Board of a number of reputable organisations in Uganda.
At ADVEJI, Dr. Bareebe brings a wealthy of experience as a highly sought-after scholar, media practitioner, management consultant and reputable researcher. As the pioneer chairman of the ADVEJI Board, Dr. Bareebe will work to streamline the strategic direction of the organization and strengthen its operational systems.
